Assisted or Complex Conception Support
Feel supported, listened to and cared for as you navigate the journey of building your family.
Building a family through assisted conception can be beautiful but it can also be really really tough. I specialise in providing support for anyone undergoing assisted reproduction (IUI, IVF, PGD IVF, ICSI, FET, donor insemination or egg donation) or conception following TFMR and provide emotional support and continuity of care throughout the process.
All of my support is trauma-informed - I recognise the added emotional complexity that assisted conception or loss can bring to your family-building process, particularly if you are managing infertility. I offer doula support designed to work with you through your journey, whatever that looks like and whatever the outcome.
How it works…
One of the most common questions I get asked as a birth doula is “how does the scheduling work with all the due dates and babies being unpredictable?!” So, here we go…
I support people undergoing assisted conception and antenatally at any point in their journey. For those wishing to book me as a birth doula, I normally begin working with clients anywhere between 8 and 25 weeks into their pregnancy (if we haven’t been working together before this), so this is an ideal time to get in touch. That said, if it’s later on in pregnancy for you, it’s always worth getting in touch as I sometimes have availability or we might find another magical way to make it work.
I usually work with small numbers of clients at any one time. I take on between 1-2 birth clients per month as well as a small number of people needing other support through fertility, pregnancy and beyond. This is to ensure that I can give everyone the attention and care that I came to this work to give.
How can I ensure I’m at your birth? If I take on more than one birth client then at least one of these clients would be shared with another birth worker and you would work with both of us - a dreamy doula duo! This is something that we call ‘shared care’ and would always be discussed with you in our consultation if I already had one client booked in for your due period.
After we’ve had an initial chat, I will hold a slot for you for a week. Don’t worry if it takes longer to make a decision, you can always reach out as I may still have availability.
You can check my availability and reach out below. If I’m fully booked, drop me an email anyway as we might be able to work something out!
So there you go, the logistics of doula life!
